The Avon High football team walloped the Avon Lake Shoremen in the battle of not only the Silver Rail Trophy but also to keep the Shoremen from getting a share of the Southwest Conference crown with a resounding 42-10 victory at Avon Lake Memorial Stadium on October 25. The varsity squad, showcasing their prowess in the regular season football face-off, demonstrated why they completed an undefeated season. It is the 9th straight SWC crown for the Eagles as they post a 10-0 regular season mark. They made it 11-0 in the first round of the playoffs as they overwhelmed North Olmsted 47-12. The Eagles continue their quest for a Div. II regional crown this weekend against Olmsted Falls.
