Once again, the SOUPer Bowl Food Drive – pitting the communities of Avon and Avon Lake together in a spirited competition to support Community Resource Services (CRW) – was a huge success!
The generous support that the CRS food pantry received from the Avon and Avon Lake communities was overwhelming and will go a long way in supporting our neighbors who are experiencing food insecurity.
Both communities together collected over 3,000 pounds of food and over $33,000 in monetary donations! Congratulations to Avon Lake for winning the SOUPer Bowl Trophy this year! And although they won the trophy, this food drive is a competition that has no losers. We all win when we can care for our neighbors when they need us most. The winner was announced at halftime of the Avon-Avon Lake football game. Avon Lake took this year’s title.
‘Thank you to everyone that donated food or money and to those who volunteered for the SOUPer Bowl as well! We couldn’t do it without you, and we are so very grateful!”
