The West Shore Chamber of Commerce Board is proud to announce the appointment of Nan Baker as its new Executive Director, effective January 1, 2025.
Baker brings with her 37 years of experience as a small business owner. During that time, she also served as State Representative for the West Shore District from 2009 to 2016, until term-limited, and as a Cuyahoga County Council member from 2017 to 2022, again serving the West Shore District. She chaired the Economic Development Committee as a State Representative and served as Vice Chair of the same committee on County Council. A passionate advocate for business, Baker currently serves on Governor DeWine’s Executive Workforce Board and holds a B.A. in Communications with an Emphasis in Business from Baldwin Wallace College.
As a long-time member of the Chamber Board, Baker has served two terms as President of The West Shore Chamber and was recently honored with the 2024 Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce (NOACC) Bright Star Award.
“We’re very excited to have Nan serve as our new Executive Director,” said Linda Hamann Hadfield, President of The West Shore Chamber Board. “Her depth of experience, knowledge, and leadership will drive the growth and success of our chamber membership.”
After 39 years of dedicated service, Executive Director John Sobolewski will be retiring on December 31, 2024. His long-standing leadership has been instrumental in shaping the Chamber’s success, and he will be greatly missed.
“I’m honored to step into this role and build upon the incredible foundation that John has created,” said Baker. “I look forward to continuing the Chamber’s mission of supporting businesses and fostering community growth.”
