The Kiwanis Club of Westlake awarded $1,000 scholarships to six Westlake High School seniors to assist them as they move on to the next phase of their academic careers. These students will be pursuing academic studies that include attending an accredited university, college, or vocational / trade school after graduation from high school. “It was a tough choice again this year, there were a lot of excellent applicants. Our scholarship winners have a solid academic record and also reflect our club goals by giving back to the community,” said Norm Resko Kiwanis Club Scholarship Committee Chairman. This is the first year that Kiwanis Club included a scholarship for attendance to a vocational or trade school. Trade schools are growing in popularity among students as skilled trade occupations and demand grows.
