Sunday, July 13 (2-3 p.m.) Brick Builders – Do you love Legos^©? Then bring your ideas and imagination to Brick Builders! Bricks provided. No registration is required, but room capacity is limited. First come, first served. Ages 5-12.

Monday, July 14 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) July Escape Room in a Box – Register to take home an escape room in a box. Play as a group or on your own as you solve puzzles and try to escape a video game. Grades 5-12. Space is limited. Registration begins July 7. Kits are available for pick up July 14-20, unless other arrangements are made.

Monday, July 14 (11-11:45 a.m.) Engineering Challenge: Skyscrapers – Presented by the Great Lakes Science Center. Transform into an engineer and take the challenge of building a tower out of simple paper that can hold weight. This program is only for children entering grades 1 or 2 in the fall. Registration begins July 7. Please register each child separately.

Monday, July 14 (6:30-7:30 p.m.) Freddy Fossil’s Dino Show – Grab your gear and join Freddy Fossil, a zany dinosaur hunter, for an upbeat and interactive show! Recommended for families with children in grades 1-5, siblings welcome. Please register.

Monday, July 14 (7-8 p.m.) Investment Planning: Are Your Investments on Track? – The best investing strategy is a carefully planned and prepared approach to managing and accumulating money. In this seminar Dave Herwerden of Westpoint Wealth Management will teach you how to make sure your investments stay on track. Please register.

Tuesday, July 15 (11-11:45 a.m.) Engineering Challenge: Rescue Mission – Students use the engineering and design process to construct a solution in small groups to complete their mission. This program is only for students entering grades 3, 4 or 5 in the fall. Registration begins July 8. Please register each child separately.

Tuesday, July 15 (6-8 p.m.) Craft Club – Join us at our craft club meeting! Bring a craft and hang out with members of the community. All crafts and skill levels welcome. No registration required.

Tuesday, July 15 (9-11 p.m.) Summer Nights, Cosmic Sights: Exploring the Summer Sky – An Evening with the Great Lakes Astrophotography Society – Experience the wonders of the cosmos as we put state-of-the-art telescopes into your hands, allowing you to explore planets, nebulas, galaxies, star clusters, and more. Ages 10 and up. Please register.

Wednesday, July 16 (11-11:45 a.m.) Sensory Friendly Spectacular Magic Show Presented by Cody Clark – The magician and autism advocate combines his experiences as a performer and autistic adult to create a magic show accessible to all. Ages 8 and up with a caring adult. Adults with disabilities welcome! WPPL thanks the Cuyahoga DD for their grant to accomplish a year of inclusive programming. Registration begins July 9.

Wednesday, July 16 (2-3 p.m.) Wednesday Afternoon Book Discussion – The Wednesday Book Group meets the third Wednesday of each month. This month’s title is “The Ride of Her Life” by Elizabeth Letts. No registration required.

Thursday, July 17 (11 a.m.-1 p.m.) WPPL’s Annual Egg Drop – Celebrate engineering during STEAM week with your design for the egg drop. Building starts at 11 a.m. in the Porter Room. Join us at noon in the library lobby for the official egg drop. All ages. No registration required.

Thursday, July 17 (1-2:30 p.m.) Papermaking with 3D Printed Tools – Learn how to make paper from pulp scraps to create your own one-of-a-kind handmade paper! We will utilize 3D printed tools such as mould and deckles and resists to make our paper. Registration begins July 10.

Thursday, July 17 (2-4 p.m.) Let’s Make Slime! – Drop in and make your own slime in this fun, hands-on activity! Grades K-6.

Thursday, July 17 (1-2 p.m.) Virtual Author Talk: Marie Lu, “Legend” – Explore the intricate world of “Legend” with bestselling author Marie Lu, as she encourages readers to look beyond the surface and reveal hidden secrets. Please register.

Thursday, July 17 (6:30-7:30 p.m.) Family Photography Walk @ WPPL – Enjoy a low impact walk around library property, starting in the Reading Garden. Dress for the weather and bring water! All ages. The library will provide devices for participants. You may use your own camera, phone, or other device, if you prefer. Photography will be featured in the library gallery in September 2025. For those with disabilities and their families. Registration begins July 10.

Friday, July 18 (10-10:45 a.m.) Greater Cleveland Aquarium – Celebrate STEAM week and attend a virtual program with the Greater Cleveland Aquarium. No registration required.

Saturdays, July 19 (10:30-11 a.m.) Outdoor Family Storytime – Join us for rhymes, songs, and play outside in the Friends Pavilion! Ages 2-6, with a caregiver. No registration required.

Saturday, July 19 (2-4 p.m.) Family Gaming Event Presented by Games Done Legit – Relive the favorite video games from the ‘80s and ‘90s, plus modern games like Minecraft that help kids connect with each other. For families with children in grades 2-12 with an adult caregiver.

Tuesday, July 22 (6-8 p.m.) Jewelry Junction: You and Me Wire-Wrapping – Learn how to wire wrap a pendant, beach glass, and shell. Make a necklace to hang the pendant. This class is for an adult with a teen or tween. Registration begins July 15.

Tuesday, July 22 (7-8:30 p.m.) Finding Your Colonial Ancestors – Join librarians Chad Statler and Anne Shields as they provide tips for discovering the life histories of colonial ancestors. Registration begins June 23.

Wednesday, July 23 (11-11:45 a.m.) Adult Stories and Crafts – Adults with disabilities are invited to laugh, sing and listen to stories, along with a craft or a coloring page. Registration begins July 16.

Wednesday, July 23 (4-4:45 p.m.) Virtual Author Talk: Rex Ogle – “Free Lunch” – You’re invited to join us as online with award-winning author Rex Ogle as he talks to viewers about his struggles to navigate sixth grade as written about in his book “Free Lunch.” Please register.

Wednesday, July 23 (7–8 p.m.) Adult Creative Writing Group: Here Comes the Sun Edition – Join us for an hour of writing prompts to inspire you to keep writing. Creativity is more than putting pen to paper. It’s about breaking away and trying something new! Grades 6-8, but all ages welcome. Please register.

Friday, July 25 (1:30–3 p.m.) Make Art @ WPPL! – Stop by the library to create a piece of art using paints, markers, crayons and other art supplies. While supplies last. Grades 1-5. No registration required.

Friday, July 25 (4–4:45 p.m.) Fun Science Friday: Fish of the Ocean – Join Mrs. K as we explore the science of sharks and other fish of the ocean. For ages 4-6, up to kindergarten. Registration begins July 18.

Saturday, July 26 (11-11:45 a.m.) Adapted Storytime – Join us for this storytime designed for children who may not be successful in a typical storytime. Content is geared toward ages 3-7. Registration begins July 19.

Saturday, July 26 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) Life-Size Mario Party – Come enjoy an IRL version of Super Mario Party with family and friends. Stop by the Youth Services desk to reserve a start time for your family’s game session. Sign-up begins at 9 a.m. the day of the program.

Saturday, July 26 (2-4 p.m.) Make It, Take It! – Stop by Youth Services to complete a featured craft. While supplies last. PreK-grade 2. No registration required. Not available for pick up at the drive-up window.

Sunday, July 27 (2-3 p.m.) Art Smarts – Explore the works of a well-known artist and then use what you’ve seen to create an art piece of your own! Grades 4-6. This month’s focus is Jason Padgett. Registration begins July 20.

Sunday, July 27 (2-3 p.m.) All Abilities Playdate – An open playtime for children of all abilities ages 2-7 with a caring adult. Siblings welcome! Developmentally-appropriate toys and a sensory station will be provided for open, imaginative, nonjudgmental play. Adults are responsible for supervising their children. No registration required.

Tuesday, July 29 (9:30-9:50 a.m.) Stories and Signs – Enjoy an interactive storytime while learning a few words in sign language! Ages 0-3, siblings welcome. No registration required.

Tuesday, July 29 (2-4 p.m.) Body Art Bash – Drop in for face painting, henna design, and temporary tattoos! All body art at this program is temporary and non-toxic. Ages 5 and up. No registration necessary.

Friday, July 29 (4-5:30 p.m.) Teen Whine and Paint Night – Sometimes we all need to let off some steam. Join us at the library for a creative outlet combined with an emotional one. Bring your pet peeves and your frustrations to put into the “emotional support” hat. Then we will follow a painting tutorial while we paint and complain our cares away. All topics will be vetted by the librarian before being shared with the group. Grades 5-12. No registration required.

Wednesday, July 30 (6:30-7:30 p.m.) Drive-In Movie at the Library! – Let’s go to the movies! We’ll make cardboard box cars. Then we’ll park our new rides and enjoy some cartoons. Please register each child attending. All supplies and snacks will be provided. Ages 3-5. Registration begins July 23.

Wednesday, July 30 (7-8 p.m.) Under the Skull and Crossbones: A Pirate’s Life for Me – Join Mark Dawidziak and Sara Showman of the Largely Literary Theater Company as they take us on a lighthearted voyage through the history of piracy, blending history, humor and song. This two-person show also looks at such celebrated literary pirates as Captain Hook and Long John Silver. Registration begins July 24.

Thursday, July 31 (1-1:45 p.m.) Hear Me Roar: Storytime with Strength – This cross-generational program connects patients with Parkinson’s with our community by sharing stories, songs and movement in this interactive storytime. Ages 2-6, siblings welcome. Registration begins July 24.

Thursday, July 31 (2-3 p.m.) Virtual Author Talk: Pria Anand – “The Mind Electric” – You’re invited to a fascinating conversation with neurologist and author Pria Anand to chat about her new book, “The Electric Mind: A Neurologist on the Strangeness and Wonder of Our Brains.” Please register.

Thursday, July 31 (3-3:30 p.m.) Reading Buddies – Partner with one of our teen reading buddies to practice your reading skills and share your favorite stories. Grades 1-3. Registration begins July 24..
