Willoway Nurseries is proud to announce the resounding success of its 3rd Annual Community Day Plant Sale, held on Saturday, September 13. Thanks to the incredible support from the community, volunteers, vendors, and staff, the event raised over $16,000, which will be donated to Avon Middle School Boosters, Avon Heritage Boosters, and AELC and East Boosters to support student programs and enrichment activities.
A Day of Community, Collaboration, and Giving
The event was well attended, with hundreds of guests shopping a wide variety of plants and enjoying the festive atmosphere. Volunteers from Willoway Nurseries and the Avon Schools worked side-by-side to make the day run smoothly—from cashiering and loading plants to greeting guests and managing logistics. “We are a wholesale operation and turning our shipping dock into a shopping center takes a lot of coordinating. We appreciate everyone’s patience and support of our initiative to give back to the community,” said Emily Showalter, Willoway’s Chief of Human Resources.
Willoway Nurseries extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s Community Day Plant Sale. Together, we’ve made a meaningful difference for our schools and our community. We look forward to hosting another plant sale in September 2026.
Willoway Nurseries is a 3rd generation family owned and operated wholesale plant nursery with primary growing locations in Avon and Huron, OH. The nursery is among the largest in Ohio, ranks among the top 40 in the country, and employs up to 460 team members in the spring season.
