St. Raphael’s new parochial vicar, Fr. Ryan Arto, who was just ordained in May, blessed “Miss Allie from Alabama” owned by Mary Lou Gerosky of Westlake.
Pets of all shapes and sizes populated the grounds of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Bay Village for their annual Pet Blessing Sat., Oct.11.
This was the 20th anniversary for the event. The event was first held in 2005 to commemorate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals. It was free to all and always makes a joyous day as participants gather to give thanks for all God’s creatures – especially our faithful animal companions – and ask for his continued blessings on our families, our community, and on all living things entrusted to our care.
