SOUPer Bowl XV Food Drive a Huge Success, Helping Hundreds of Local Families

The SOUPer Bowl XV Food Drive benefiting Community Resource Services (CRS) was an incredible success, held on October 17, at Westland Heating/Air Conditioning & Plumbing Stadium. Avon claimed this year’s friendly victory over Avon Lake, but the true winners are the families served by CRS.

Together, the two communities demonstrated remarkable generosity, collecting $24,514 in monetary donations and 5,489 pounds of food to support local families in need.

Since the SOUPer Bowl’s inception in 2010, the annual drive has generated a combined $227,189 in donations and 92,814 pounds of food, reflecting the enduring spirit of compassion and community shared by Avon and Avon Lake.

CRS extends heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals, businesses, and organizations whose dedication made this year’s event possible, including Kristina Buller, Amy Gannon, Pilot Travel Center, Sue Cole (Avon Lake Transportation), Jeanne DiFrancesco (Avon Transportation), and the countless staff, students, families, and volunteers from both communities.

Their enthusiasm and kindness transformed this friendly competition into a true victory for hope, helping CRS continue its mission of assisting neighbors in need. Together, Avon and Avon Lake continue to make a lasting difference for local families.
