40th Annual Scholarship Luncheon
The Herb Guild Garden Club is holding its 40th Annual Scholarship Luncheon on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the Emerald Event Center, 33040 Just Imagine Dr., Avon, Ohio 44011. The luncheon will feature craft, culinary, and boutique tables, where items will be available for purchase. The highlight of the luncheon is an extravagant Basket Raffle with over 40 baskets, each one worth $75.
During the luncheon, scholarships will be presented to the 2026 winners, and money will be raised for next year’s scholarships fund. Credit cards will be accepted at the event. Tickets are $45 for a delicious lunch of Chicken Breast in Romano Cream Sauce or a vegetarian choice, Eggplant Parmesan, along with salad, seasonal vegetables, and a dessert. A cash bar will be offered. The event starts at 10:30am. Tickets are sold in tables of 10, but singles seats are available. Call Kathie Conrad (215-872-9725) after May 20th to purchase tickets.
June Meeting Details
The Herb Guild Garden Club will hold its June meeting on June 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The meeting will start with the club’s usual business session. Following this, guest speaker, Beryl Prusinski will present “Settlers of Dover Township and Colonial Herb Gardens” In her presentation, she will describe how early Ohio pioneer herb gardeners provided what our hardware stores, groceries and pharmacies supply today. Furthermore, learn the applications of various beneficial plants introduced by settlers from the East.
Location and Membership
The Herb Guild Garden Club is a local organization that meets on the second Wednesday of each month. Meetings are held in the Porter Room at Porter Public Library, 27333 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, Ohio. New members and guests are always welcome.
