Westshore Arts Council Presents Scholarships

The Westshore Arts Council (WAC) recently had the privilege of presenting $1,000 scholarships to two Lakewood High School graduates pursuing studies in the arts. The Performing Arts scholarship was presented to Owen Hill, and the Visual Arts scholarship went to Sandy Penney. Moments like this remind us why community arts organizations matter. In addition to financial awards, these scholarships send a message to young artists that their creativity has value – and that their community believes in them.

Robert Pearl, President of WAC and Tom Baraczski, WAC Board member, presented the scholarships.
