Bay High Students Named to All-State Jazz Ensemble

Two Bay High School students have been named to the All-State Jazz Ensemble by the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA). Senior Michael Burgett will participate in the All-State Jazz Ensemble on trombone and Junior Danny McDonald on bass (guitar). The Ohio Music Educators Association Conference (OMEA) will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center from Jan. 28-30, 2027. The students will rehearse with their group and perform during the conference.

“I’m most appreciative of my teachers and family for their support, and I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to perform at this next level.,” says Michael Burgett, a senior at Bay High School who will play the trombone in the All-State Jazz Ensemble.

“I am so grateful to be recognized for my musicianship, and I am excited to play and work with fellow musicians at the OMEA conference this January,” says Danny McDonald, a junior at Bay High School who will play the bass (guitar) in the All-State Jazz Ensemble.
