Summer Market: Friday, July 27, 3-9 p.m. & Saturday, July 28, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. – Veterans Memorial Park. The Summer Market is a unique outdoor festival and benefit held in Avon Lake. Thousands of guests visit the Market each year to shop for furniture, jewelry, art, vintage items, fresh produce, home decor, and a variety of other goods from more than 80 vendors. Guests can grab a bite from several featured restaurants & food trucks, listen to live music, watch the sun set on the lake, or shop in the summer sun. It is a great event that should not be missed!
Founded in 2006 by Erin Stack and Kristen Weeden, two friends with a shared creative passion for vintage finds, lakeside living, and helping others, the Summer Market benefits Girls Give Back, their nonprofit organization based in Avon Lake. All proceeds from the Summer Market fund the “Gift of Home,” an annual Girls Give Back project that creates a place of serenity, comfort, and well-being for local families in need.
Big Trucks: September 15 – Avon Lake Safety Center, 32855 Walker Rd. Tour Avon Lake Police and Fire Department now and then; Avon Lake’s safety forces have kept the city safe going way back, come learn the stories. Make sure to bring a youngster that will be thrilled to climb on all the Big Trucks.
Bicentennial Beer Festival: September 22, 12-6 p.m. – Miller Road Park, 33760 Lake Rd. The Bicentennial Committee will host the first annual Beer Festival at Miller Road Park. Come to sample a wide array of craft beers from local breweries. Bring the family and enjoy live music, food trucks, interactive characters and even some activities for the kids. Consider hosting your company picnic or family get together by reserving a private tent with catering options. Avon Lake Alumni Homecoming: September 29, 12-3 p.m. – Avon Lake High School, 175 Belden Rd. Welcome home Avon Lake Alumni! On Homecoming Saturday, all Avon Lake Schools will be open for alumni to tour. All the schools will be open to the public to tour and “remember when.” Check back to get more details as the date gets closer!
Boo by the Woods: October 20 – Avon Lake Public Library, 32649 Electric Blvd. Over the last 200 years, a lot of ghost stories have been passed from generation-to-generation. Join this annual family-friendly Halloween Festival and enjoy indoor and outdoor festivities, meet & greet with cool characters and walk the haunted trail for some scary Avon Lake history.
