Westlake Porter Public Library Celebrates Steam Week

Westlake Porter Public Library’s annual Summer Reading Program will focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics during its annual STEAM Week, July 15-21.

During that week the library will offer programs for all age groups covering those topics, including COSI on Wheels: Energy!, Tablet Tuesday User Group, Makey Makey, Egg Splatter Painting, WPPL’s Annual Egg Drop, Marshmallow Challenge, Alternatives to Cable TV, Behind the Scenes with Cleveland Pops Orchestra and Solve Problems with littleBits.

Conceived as Science Week, STEAM Week recognizes the importance of these disciplines to today’s life and seeks to encourage all library visitors to learn more about them, whether as a potential career field or to better understand and use the technologies we rely on.
