The Community West Foundation Board of Directors approved $783,000 in first quarter grants to nonprofit agencies that provide basic needs services to the community in Cleveland, Western Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties. The recipient organizations include:

- Edwin’s Leadership Institute
- Far West Center
- Front Steps
- Greater Cleveland Food Bank
- Humility of Mary Housing
- Journey Center for Safety and Healing
- Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry
- Neighborhood Alliance
- North Ridgeville Community Care
- Providence House
- The Lantern Center for Recovery
- The Refugee Response
- The Salvation Army
- Trials for Hope
- Urban Community School
- Youth Bee Works
- YWCA Greater Cleveland – Norma Herr Center
Several members of the Board of Directors Grants Committee, along with Community West staff, personally delivered grant checks to these agencies. “We’ve really missed the in-person connection with our partners. This gave us an opportunity to see one another outside of Zoom for the first time in over a year,” commented Marty Uhle, President and CEO of Community West Foundation. In 2020, Community West Foundation provided 70 grants to nonprofit agencies, the most in the foundation’s history, totaling $2.4 million.
