Westlake Has Four Winners in Cleveland Clinic Art Expressions Program

Westlake High School junior Lexie Floyd, seniors Lili Busic and Henyah Dardir, and sophomore Macy Sinreich earned ribbons in the Cleveland Clinic eXpressions Art Program this year.

The eXpressions Art program is an interdisciplinary program that utilizes the arts to engage high school students in the world of scientific research. Through project-based, peer-to-peer learning, students produce creative interpretations of research conducted by Cleveland Clinic science interns.

Lexie and Lili earned Blue Ribbons, Macy a Red Ribbon, and Henyah a White Ribbon.

Westlake students competed against about 1,700 art, language and math projects from 61 schools. Blue Ribbon winners receive a $100 gift card, Red Ribbon winners receive $75 and White Ribbon winners receive $50. Each teacher of an award-winning student also receives a $100 educational grant. Westlake art teacher Kelly Atkinson supported WHS art students.
