A Vegas Style Casino Night for a Great Cause!

Neil Smith, D.O., President, Fairview Hospital welcomes guests to the Caring Continues Casino Night

Casino Night was a fun, interactive evening with the tagline, “The Caring Continues…”

Indeed, this annual event supports a special philanthropic fund that enables the Oncology Social Workers at Fairview Hospital to help cancer patients who are experiencing financial difficulty.

The Caring Continues Fund is administered by Community West Foundation. Over 200 patients have received assistance this year with rent, utilities, medication, car payments and transportation to medical appointments. They also provide Giant Eagle gift cards to help with gasoline and food expenses.

The event was held, once again, at the West Side Irish American Club in Olmsted Township with catering provided by O’Malley’s. Community West Foundation was a sponsor of the “Rat Pack” themed fundraiser, and guests were encouraged to dress accordingly.

People could try their luck at roulette, black jack, poker, bingo and Texas hold ‘em. The committee put together terrific raffle packages that included a large flat screen TV; tickets to the Cleveland Orchestra, Beck Center and Playhouse Square; a “basket of booze;” restaurant gift certificates and a 50/50 raffle, etc. etc. Each table was decorated with a centerpiece featuring a Barbie doll “dressed to the nines” as a Vegas showgirl.
