Last Thursday was the last day of school before a long weekend (no school Friday or Monday) in the Avon Lake City Schools. Students and staff at Avon Lake High School celebrated the short school week with a variety of theme days throughout the week.
Thursday’s theme was “Anything but a Backpack.” Students were encouraged to bring their belongings to school in ‘anything but a backpack.’
The students were very creative carrying their books in pizza boxes, grocery carts, fertilizer spreaders, garbage cans, coolers, strollers, pet carriers, instrument cases, suitcases, sleds, microwaves, vacuums, among many other items.
