Summer is the season for special events and Great Northern’s calendar is full of family-friendly entertainment, free classes and unique experiences for all ages.

Upcoming special events include:
Ariel’s Bubble Bash: Saturday, June 24 starting at 11 a.m. Join your favorite mermaid for some summertime crafts, games, and activities! In this 45-minute mini event, attendance is limited to help maximize character interaction time and magic! The party takes place in the Community Room outside of Macy’s. Purchase of one ticket includes admission for one child and one adult. Due to capacity limitations, only one adult may accompany a child with a paid ticket. To reserve your ticket, click here.
Red, White, Blue & The Crushers Too: Saturday, July 1 from 1-2:30 p.m. Kick off the holiday with entertainment, music, and games from RealPopFusion. Plus, meet the Lake Erie Crushers team from 1-2 p.m.!
Frozen Summer Cooldown: Saturday, July 22 starting at 11 a.m. Join your favorite snow sisters for activities, games, dancing, and fun! This 45-minute interactive party has limited seating to help give each child the perfect experience. The party takes place in the Community Room outside of Macy’s. Tickets are $10 per child and include one accompanying adult only. To reserve your ticket, click here.
Tax-Free Weekend: Friday, August 4- Sunday, August 6. Shop and save for back-to-school (or any occasion!) plus enjoy events and activations all weekend. The following items are exempt from sales and use tax during this weekend:
- An item of clothing priced at $75 or less
- An item of school supplies priced at $20 or less
- An item of school instructional material priced at $20 or less
Cleveland Metroparks Discovery Day: Friday, August 4 from 12-2 p.m. Cleveland Metroparks Rocky River Nature Center will be on site with a touch table and live animals in the food court near Dick’s Sporting Goods.
BOOM: Friday, August 11 at 6 p.m. Great Northern Mall, the City of North Olmsted and Moen present BOOM, featuring family-friendly activations, music, food trucks and fireworks show around 9 p.m.

The Peach Truck Tour: The Peach Truck is back for the season! Order bundles of fresh Georgia peaches in advance and pick up from the truck located in the Great Northern parking lot near Dillard’s. Peach Truck Tour upcoming dates: Thursday, June 29 from 3:30-5 p.m. • Thursday, July 13 from 12-1:30 p.m. • Thursday, July 24 from 3:30-5 p.m.
Summer Concerts: Third Sunday of the month at 1 p.m. Take in the sounds of 732 The Electric Duo, performing hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Concert dates: July 16, August 20 and September 17
Backyard Butchers: June 30-July 10. Stop by this outdoor, contactless, drive-thru pop-up market in the JCPenney parking lot and shop a full selection of beef, seafood, chicken and more.
Kids Night Out: Second Friday of every month from 5-6:30 p.m. Craft, create and play during Great Northern’s official Kids Night Out, presented by RealPopFusion. Plus enjoy games, giveaways and other surprises. Upcoming dates: July 14 and August 11
Free Community Yoga: Every Saturday from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Join us to calm your mind and body with an hour gentle, traditional yoga moves, perfect for both beginners and advanced participants. These free classes are held in the Community Center and are open to ages 16 and older (younger guests may attend if accompanied by an adult.) Instruction provided by North Olmsted Rec Center yoga instructors.
Fred Astaire Dance Lessons: Last Friday of every month from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Join instructors from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio and learn new steps each month during free community dance classes. Upcoming date: June 30
Family Storytime with Cuyahoga County Public Library: first Friday of each month at 11:30 a.m. Children of all ages are invited to join the North Olmsted Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library every month in the Community Room near Macy’s. Upcoming date: July 7
Food Court Bingo: Second and fourth Friday of every month from 12-1 p.m. and the third Wednesday each month from 6-7 p.m. Grab a bite to eat, play Bingo and win prizes! The event is free to attend and open to all ages.
Great Northern Kids Club: Second Thursday of every month from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Enjoy a fun-filled hour of engaging activities geared toward younger children. Each month will feature a different theme and include special games, crafts, story time and more.
