Concierge Medicine of Westlake will open on September 5, 2023, across from St. John Medical Center as part of the Ms.Medicine network. This the primary care concierge practice will provide exceptional preventive, wellness, chronic illness, and sick care to all with a special emphasis in serving the unmet needs in women’s health. The Women on the west side of Cleveland will now have an alternative to today’s complicated and impersonal healthcare system that often leaves women frustrated, confused, or neglected.
At Concierge Medicine of Westlake patient members are treated with the respect and empathy they deserve and have 24/7 access to their primary care physician. The boutique practice provides same-day appointments, giving patients prompt care without the anguish of waiting days or weeks to see their doctor. Unlike traditional primary care, the concierge innovative model allows doctors much more time with each patient, resulting in a more personal and trusted relationship between doctor and patient. This relationship is particularly critical for women who often face a gender bias in health care.
“We are changing the landscape of women’s healthcare,” said Dr. Alexa Fiffick, a board-certified physician and founder of Concierge Medicine of Westlake. “Our mission is to provide exceptional personalized healthcare where women are heard and given quality time to address their healthcare needs, concerns and overall well-being.”
The new patient-centered practice is a member of Ms.Medicine, the only membership-based concierge primary care network designed to meet the needs of women’s health. The physicians at Ms.Medicine are raising the standard of care for women’s health, empowering women with knowledge, and offering preventative and proactive programs carefully designed to treat the entire person, mind, and body.”
“We want our patients to have peace of mind, knowing we will be their number one healthcare advocate,” Dr. Fiffick explained. “In the traditional setting, midlife women are often ignored and not given the care they deserve and need. At our clinic, women, especially those who perimenopausal, menopausal and beyond, who have the greatest gap in care will be our top priority.”
Dr. Fiffick understands that menopause can cause major disruptions in women’s home and work life. Citing a recent Mayo Clinic study, Dr. Fiffick says menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep disturbance and mood swings can cost American women an estimated $1.8 billion in lost working time each year.
The young doctor is so dedicated to boosting menopause awareness, she is a Medical Expert with the Menopause Mandate, championed by Hollywood actress Naomi Watts.
