UH St. John Medical Center and City of Westlake gathered at the hospital grounds last month to bless the community garden there.
Westlake Mayor Dennis Clough thanked the hospital for sharing the land occupied by the garden (along Crocker Road next to the medical offices there).
Coming together as a community to share the blessing of all our city’s bounty is symbolized by this gesture of basic civic compassion, said Mayor Clough. He was joined by UH SJMC COO Brian Monter, Chris Stuhm, Westlake Service Director, Pastor Benjamin Walther, UH SJMC Pastoral Care, and Kathleen Gemmel, Community Garden co-chair. Fr. Mark Latcovich of St. Lasislas Church performed the blessing.
