The City of Westlake opened the new Rec Center Park and athletic fields with a great community celebration last weekend. “Thank you to everyone who came out to mark this exciting addition to Westlake. We can’t wait to see residents enjoying the fields and amenities, practicing, playing, and making this a welcoming community space for years to come!” announced Mayor Dennis Clough.
What’s New at the Park?
- The Playground: Features a multi-level climbing tower, twin tube slides, inclusive play elements, and shaded seating areas.
- The Fields: High-performance surfaces including DoublePlay Natural ballfields and a multi-purpose field with CoolPlay technology to reduce surface temperatures by up to 35 degrees.
- Lighting: New Musco LED sports lighting for enhanced visibility and playability.
These fields will serve as a hub for Westlake Youth Soccer, Football, Softball, Baseball, and more.
