Lake Ridge Academy announced its Valedictorian, Jodie Xiaojing Deng, and Salutatorian, Laila Haidar.
Jodie is a native of Shenyang, in the Liaoning province of China and arrived in the United States in 2017 at a sophomore through Lake Ridge Academy’s international program. She is the first international student to achieve this honor at Lake Ridge. Jodie will be attending Johns Hopkins University this fall to study chemistry and bimolecular engineering.
Laila is a resident of Strongsville and will be attending Oberlin College this fall to pursue a degree in art history.

Lake Ridge Academy’s Class of 2019 will graduate on Saturday, June 1 at 2:00 pm on the school’s campus in the Bettcher Conovation Center. The 39 graduates in the class have earned $3 million in college scholarships. 67% of the class will attend out-of-state colleges, while 33% will stay in-state.
