Miss Wheelchair Ohio Visits Westlake’s New Accessible Playground

Thank you to Ms. Wheelchair Ohio 2022 – Krista Allison for visiting the City of Westlake’s new accessible playground at Clague Park and shining a light on our community’s ongoing efforts to provide robust and inclusive recreational facilities for all!

“Got the opportunity this afternoon to meet with Paula Horner (Director of Recreation) and Bill Beech (Facilities and Grounds Manager) with the City Of Westlake Ohio Government.” says Krista. “I was accompanied by my friend Dawn Carbone-McDonald, North Royalton Ward 5 Councilwoman. We toured the new accessible playground the city built at Clague Park. All I can say is if you are a city in the process of building an accessible playground take a trip to Westlake! It is truly the epitome of what an accessible playground should be!! I was able to move around everywhere and even go on the equipment. Also, mentioned to Paula putting an Adult Changing Table at the outdoor pool/park area and in the Rec Center. Thank you Paula and Bill for meeting with us.”
