Mercy: Flu Causes Visitor Changes

Mercy implements temporary changes to hospital visitation policy in
response to flu season

Lorain –
Due to the severity of the 2013 respiratory influenza season, for
the safety and health of our patients, associates and community members,
Mercy has made several temporary changes to the hospital visitation policy,
effective immediately.

Children under the age of 14 are discouraged from visiting Mercy Regional
Medical Center and Mercy Allen Hospital.

Visitors are also discouraged from spending the night in the hospital. If
visitors must stay overnight, they are encouraged to stay one at a time.

Individuals with any of the flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, coughing,
sore throat, muscle aches) will be asked not to visit, but may resume
visits once their symptoms have subsided

Policy changes will remain in effect until the influenza subsides.
