Bay Police Blotter Jan. 22, 2013

On 01/16/2013, at 0022 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Bradley Rd. in Westlake after the vehicle went left of center and almost struck the police cruiser.  The officer attempted to stop the vehicle on Bradley Rd. near Wolf Rd; however, the driver did not stop until reaching Viking Parkway in Westlake.  After the officer spoke with the driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the uncooperative 40 yoa male driver was arrested for OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.
On 01/15/2013, at 1608 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Wolf Rd. near Pellett.  The 19 yoa male that was operating the vehicle had several outstanding warrants with BVPD for drug law violations.  He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants.  More illegal drugs and a knife were in his possession when he was stopped.  He will face drug and weapons charges in addition to the warrants.  He will face charges at RRMC.
On 01/15/2013, at 1424 hrs, BVPD officers responded to a Jefferson Court residence for a suspicious male that was pacing the sidewalk in front of the house.  According to the caller, the male had smoked several cigarettes, and the caller did not recognize him.  Officers spoke with the male who was at his father’s house doing his laundry.  He was advised of the complaint.
On 01/16/2013, at 1200 hrs, a Bay Village Service department employee reported damage to the new playground equipment at Reese Park.  Several pieces of the equipment were missing or heavily damaged.  No dollar amount had been placed on the damage yet.  Police are investigating.
