Bay Village Police Report March 11th, 2013

On 03/09/1341 hrs, a female contacted police to report a male exposed himself to her as she was jogging down Lake Rd. in the area of Douglas. Police searched the area, but were unable to locate him. She described the male subject as 5’8″ or 5’9″, Caucasian, with a brown mustache and brown hair, believed to be in his late 40s to early 50s. The male in question was wearing a knee length buttoned down navy jacket, dark sweatpants, white tennis shoes, and a navy knit cap.

On 03/09/2013, at 0023 hours, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Bassett near the rail road tracks for a traffic violation. After speaking with the 42 yoa driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. The female was uncooperative, and refused to perform all field sobriety tests. She was arrested for OVI, and will face charges at Rocky River Municipal Court.

On 03/08/2013, at 2049 hours, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Lake Rd. near Upland. After speaking with the 55 yoa male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, he was arrested for OVI. He will face charges at Rocky River Municipal Court.

On 03/07/2013, at 0007 hours, BVPD officers were assisting Westlake Pd. with a pursuit. The pursuit entered Bay Village on Bradley Rd, and the violator reached speeds in excess of 100 mph. The suspect vehicle crashed into a tree on Lake Rd. at Bradley Rd. when he attempted to make the turn onto west bound Bradley. The 38 yoa male was taken into custody without incident and transported to SJWS Hospital for his injuries. He will face charges from Westlake PD in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas and from Bay Village Police in Rocky River Municipal Court.
