WESTLAKE – The City of Westlake has set the dates for our 7th annual Corporate Challenge. The challenge will take place Aug. 5-9. All Challenge events are held throughout the city of Westlake at various locations. The locations include; Westlake Recreation Center, Meadowood Golf Course and the Center for Community Services.
Mayor Dennis Clough is an avid participant and invites corporations within the city to field a team. “The City of Westlake appreciates the involvement and support of our corporate citizens by sending a team to participate in the fun and great causes of our annual Corporate Challenge,” says Clough. He adds, “These events will test your skills and make you laugh. I will be there and I hope you will too!”
The Corporate Challenge is a chance for employees of Westlake based companies to compete against each other in a variety of events. The challenge provides a great team building opportunity for companies and their employees. The events this year will include bocce ball, sand volleyball, cornhole, blood drive, food drive (which will benefit the Westlake Assistance Program), cardboard boat races, Texas Hold ‘Em tournament, golf, spirit banner, timed walk, table tennis, puzzle mania and cupcake baking contest. New events include billiards, trivia contest and golf closest to the pin competition.
Last year’s winners, Alego Health, look forward to defending their title, according to Jonathan Levoy, Vice President of Business Development and Technology for Alego Health. “I definitely encourage other Westlake based companies to join the 2013 Westlake Corporate Challenge for what is sure to be a rewarding and fun experience,” says Levoy. He adds, “We were able to gain the ability to do team building activities and connect to the community & other Westlake companies throughout the events.”
Featured again this year is the opportunity for two companies to join together to make one Corporate Challenge Team. Companies may form their own partnerships or contact the Recreation Center to find a company looking for a partner.
Last year’s participating companies include Alego Health, Applied Companies, Inc., City of Westlake, Corsaro & Associates, Fidelity Investments, Scott Fetzer, Sea Land Chemical Company, Western Enterprises and Westlake Village Retirement Community. Past winners of the Corporate Challenge are Alego Health (2012), Western Enterprises (2011), Lake Erie Electric (2010), Five Seasons-Westlake (2009), Rae Ann Nursing (2008) and Western Enterprises (2007).
