Runaway Pig in Bay Village

A resident reported to Bay Village Police on May 11 at 11:05 a.m. that she was chased by a pig while she was walking her one-year old  down the sidewalk.  Officers responded to the area and advised a Forestview resident about his pig running at large.

On 05/12/2013, at 2003 hrs, a passerby reported an open door at a business at Dover Commons.  The sign indicated the store was closed and there were no employees on scene.  Responding officers determined nothing appeared to be out of place and left a message for the owner before securing the door.

 

On 05/11/2013, at 2342 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Saddler near Lake rd. for multiple traffic violations.  After the vehicle stopped, a male passenger fled from the vehicle on foot.  After speaking with the uncooperative male driver, officers believed he had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, an as a result, the 18 yoa driver was arrested for OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.  Officers checked the area for the passenger, but were unable to locate him.

 

On 05/12/2013, at 0611 hrs, an employee from Heinen’s called to report a male was just at their garden center and had destroyed some property.  The male took off running when the employee called police.  Police eventually identified the 19 yoa male, but the store declined prosecution.

 

On 05/11/2013, at 2236 hrs, a Convenient employee flagged down a BVPD officer to report an underage male had attempted to purchase alcohol before leaving the store.  The 18 yoa male will be charged with Attempted Underage Purchase of Alcohol.  He will face charges at RRMC.

 

On 05/11/2013, at 0000 hrs, a BVPD officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Wolf Rd. near Sutcliffe for a traffic violation.  The vehicle fled, and the officer pursued briefly before calling off the pursuit because of the high speeds and wet roads.  A short time later the officer located the vehicle in a front yard on Wolf Rd. near the High School, at which time the vehicle fled again.  The officer pursued the vehicle, again.  The fleeing vehicle crashed into two poles at the intersection of Wolf Rd. and Walmar.  The 26 yoa intoxicated male driver, who claimed to be the designated driver for the evening, was knocked unconscious from the crash.  He was transported to SJWS with non life threatening injures.  He was charged with reckless operation, fleeing, and OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.

 

On 05/10/2013, at 2143 hrs, a BVPD officer located a group of 6 juveniles in the area of the Bay Boat Club.  One of the males had a backpack with him.  The juvenile consented to a search.  The officer located a large bottle of whiskey in the backpack.  The juvenile will be charged with Underage Possession of Alcohol.  He will face charges at CCJC.

 

On 05/10/2013, at 0209 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near Columbia Rd. for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 25 yoa female driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI.  She will face charges for OVI, open container, and possession of drug paraphernalia at RRMC.
