Bay Village Memorial Day Parade and Activities

Monday, May 27th  

The parade is being organized by the American Legion Post 385 with assistance from VVA Chapter 249 and VFW Post 9693.

Memorial Day Schedule:

8:00 a.m. Parade participants to assemble in Huntington Park

8:45 a.m. March to Lakeside Cemetery

9:00 a.m. March to Cahoon Park

9:45 a.m. Ceremonies at Cahoon Park

10:45 a.m. Cahoon Park Memorial Bridge – Bay’s own Jon Loufman will be emceeing, Troy Ayers and the Bay High Spring Quartet to perform, Honorary plaques will be presented to two Bay citizens. Click here for a link to the Village Foundation’s Memorial Bronze plaque program.

 

Westlake Memorial Day Schedule

The City of Westlake Memorial Day Parade will kick off at Westlake Christian Church at 25800 Hilliard Blvd. It will proceed east to Clague Park where ceremonies will take place. Start time is 10 a.m.
Avon Lake’s Memorial Day Observances:

9 a.m. Memorial Services at Lakeshore Cemetery

10 a.m. Parade

 

Avon Memorial Day

Organized by the Avon/Avon Lake VFW Post 7035, the Avon Memorial Day Parade starts at the Avon Senior Center and proceeds to the Avon Center Cemetery at Rt. 83 and Detroit Road. It begins at 9  a.m. Participation is expected to be high, with clubs, organizations and flag-wavers courtesy of the VFW
Rocky River/Lakewood

The Memorial Day parade for Rocky River and Lakewood is hosted by the Lakewood and Rocky River Joint Veterans Council for the 11th year.

The parade starts at Rocky River High at 10:30 a.m. and goes  east on Detroit Road to Lakewood Park Cemetery at 22025 Detroit Road.

Dignitaries from both communities will participate. There will also be a ceremony at Lakewood Park Cemetery highlighted by speaker and Vietnam War veteran Gilbert M. Fritzsche. A wreath will be laid at the cemetery’s flagpole, followed by a 21-gun salute.
