The Burning River Roller Girls roller derby team will visit Westlake Porter Public Library on Tuesday, June 11 at 7 p.m. They will be accompanied by members of their “sister” team, the RockStars junior derby team. Both groups will talk about the sport of roller derby and demonstrate some of their moves. The program will take place in the library’s parking lot.
The Burning River Roller Girls were formed in 2006, and now consist of over 70 skaters divided among teams. The BRRG are members of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association, and play both intraleague and interleague games. The RockStars consists of girls between the ages of 10 and 17.
