An Open House for potential new members of Parents Without Partners or anyone interested in learning more about our group has been set for Sunday September 1st. This will be a great way to come out, meet some people, have some laughs (those bringing kids..to see them have a good time while you spend time with “adults” too!) and hopefully make some new memories!!! This event will start at 1:30 PM and go until late in the evening when all of The S’mores are gone! The address is 547 Cahoon Road in Bay Village, Ohio 44140.
Parents Without Partners is dedicated to improving the quality of life for single parents and their families through educational programs, family and youth programs, and adult socials. This group can help you or someone you know deal with the family trauma of “becoming” a single parent; which requires major adjustments on the part of the parent(s) and children. It can be joyful and rewarding for you if you understand that your family will need an extra measure of understanding, patience, and cooperation. It is a place where new friendships begin!
Parents Without Partners, Inc. is now the largest international, nonprofit membership organization devoted to the welfare and interests of single parents and their children. Single parents may join one of approximately 200 chapters; they may be male or female, custodial or non-custodial, separated, divorced, widowed or never-married. Additionally, the most recent census data shows that over 40% of all households in the US are now single parent households, making single parent households the largest form of household in the US.
The West Cuyahoga/Lorain Chapter #1395 of PWP looks for fun, safe, low cost events and outings to help our single parents to relax and enjoy themselves and their children. This happens through our varied family activities that include: picnics, group outings, family dining opportunities and holiday parties for the children. Social opportunities for adults are available through our Singles Dances, Game Nights, New Member Pot-Luck Dinners, Evenings Out, Membership Meetings, and Happy Hour Gatherings.
The events on September 1st will include a cookout with Hotdogs, Hamburgers and pop. Everyone will be asked to bring bag chairs, a dish to share and S’mores will be made in the evening. The children in attendance will have a swing set, volleyball set and other games available to them. A hike by the creek is also planned so a second set of clothing is recommended as many of the kids “accidentally” fall in! Additionally, rollerblades are recommended for a skate in the park. RSVP for this event to: Greg Schwert at email@example.com or by calling (440)665-6166.
