Members of the EMH Healthcare leadership team will be getting down and dirty for this year’s United Way fundraising campaign. On Friday, September 20, the public is invited to have their car washed by hospital directors, managers, supervisors and educational coordinators – all for a good cause.
The EMH car wash will take place from 11:00am until 3:00pm in the visitor’s lot next to the parking garage, at the corner of East Broad and East River Streets. A $10 donation to the United Way is requested per vehicle washed.
“The car wash has been a successful part of EMH’s fundraising efforts in the past,” said Dawn Blaylock, compliance coordinator and campaign manager for EMH Healthcare’s United Way annual fundraising campaign. “People seem to like to see our leaders out there washing cars.” She continued, “We even had one employee purposely get their SUV muddy, just to see their director scrub it off,” she said with a smile. “There’s usually some friendly spraying of water on each other as well.”
The car wash is open to the public. Hot dogs, potato chips and soft drinks will be for sale on site. The community is encouraged to come on their lunch break and enjoy some food while their car is being washed. All proceeds from the car wash will benefit the United Way. The rain date is Friday, September 27, 2013.
