The day offered an opportunity to celebrate the birth of children born at Fairview Hospital and experience the Zoo like they’ve never seen it before.

A variety of educational and entertaining activities were scheduled throughout this fun-filled day: Clowns, child safety, face painting, fingerprinting, magicians, jugglers, childhood nutrition, demonstrations and much more!

Highlight of the day was a appearance of The Superheroes to Kids in Ohio! This group offers a chance for children to meet icons like Superman, Batman, Captain America and others. The kids hear an inspirational message on making good choices in life while getting photos and autographs of their heroes.

Proceeds benefit Fairview Hospital. The goal of this year’s event was to raise funds to supply each baby leaving the Fairvew Birthing Unit with a HALO SleepSack wearable blanket. The specialized blanket replaces loose blankets in the crib that can cover baby’s face and interfere with breathing. In addition to sleeping more safely, HALO SleepSack products help babies sleep better, too. Since 2005, the American Academy of Pediatrics has suggested the use of wearable blankets. Today, HALO SleepSack products are used by over 1,000 hospitals to promote safe sleep, and by millions of parents nationwide to help babies sleep safely from the start.
