Ever wonder, “What am I going to do with all this leftover Halloween candy?” Our kids put in all this effort, sometimes running from house to house, to collect candy that often gets thrown away two months later. What if you could enjoy your favorite treats and make a US soldier smile at the same time?

We are buying back your candy to send to our brave troops through Operation Gratitude. For every one pound of candy you bring to our office, you will receive $1 cash, up to five pounds per person for your unopened candy. We ask that children are accompanied by an adult for the event.

We are hosting the event at our dental office on two days: Monday, November 4 from 3-7pm and Wednesday, November 6 from 3-6pm. That gives you plenty of time to pick out your favorite treats and then plan to share the rest of the candy through Operation Gratitude!  The Candy Buy Back event will be held at our office, located at 27239 Wolf Road in Bay Village, at The Bay Village Square Shopping Center.

After you get cash for your candy, you will have the opportunity to write a thank you note to our troops, pick out a prize from the treasure box, and take home a Healthy Mouth goody bag.

Enter to win a raffle prize ranging from Cleveland Browns autographed memorabilia to a package of Family Night gift cards. The raffle is made possible by local support from many of the vendors in The Bay Village Square Shopping Center, who donated gift cards for a family fun night or for their services, and the Cleveland Browns for donating the memorabilia.

Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that sends care packages to troops and their families. The Healthy Smile will then send the sweet taste of home to Van Nuys, California where care packages will be assembled and mailed overseas. Each package is stuffed with snacks, entertainment items, and personal letters of appreciation.

Their mission is to lift morale, bring a smile to a service member’s face, and express to our Armed Forces the appreciation and support of the American people. Operation Gratitude will be sending 60,000 holiday care packages this season, and in November they will reach the incredible milestone of delivering the one millionth package!

What a great way to show our appreciation for our military heroes. One soldier who received a package last year wrote, “I can’t think of a single better thing to receive on a deployment than a box from someone you know cares.”

While introducing the Candy Buy Back idea here at The Healthy Smile, one young patient enthusiastically told her mom that this year she wants to take a pillow case and go to all the houses in the neighborhood so she can give the troops her candy. We hope that you too, will enthusiastically join our efforts!

Please feel free to call Joyce at 440-892-1810 today with any questions. As always, our goal is to help you develop and maintain a healthy smile, so thank you for helping us make a herosmile also.
