Cleveland Clinic’s Fairview Hospital completed the final phase of construction on its new $83 emergency department and intensive care unit expansion. The new building opened in June of last year after more than two years of construction. On December 31, Fairview opened a new spacious main lobby and concourse which easily connects to the rest of the hospital. Several gathered together to celebrate the opening with the raising of the flag on a new flagpole donated by the hospital’s Auxiliary Board.
The new concourse allows patients to enter Fairview Hospital directly from the parking garage and take a more direct route to the intensive care unit and emergency department.
Fairview’s expansion includes a 55-bed emergency department, including a separate 16-room pediatric emergency department, two Level II trauma rooms, and an expanded intensive care unit with 38 private patient rooms.
