Bay Village Police: Tempers Flare over Cahoon Road Construction

Sewer construction work on Cahoon Road is bringing temper flares in Bay Village.

On 02/14/2014, at 0752 hrs, Bay Police  received a call from a construction worker on the Cahoon Rd. sewer project reporting a verbal altercation with a motorist.  The motorist told the worker he would be back.  The motorist called BVPD reporting three construction workers had just threatened to fight him after he drove through the construction site.  All parties involved were talked to and advised.

 

Missing Mail

On 02/11/2014, at 1520 hrs, a 24-yoa Osborn resident reported that her paycheck, which had been mailed in North Olmsted, had been stolen.  Police are investigating.

 

OVI

On 02/12/2014, at 0125 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Bradley Rd. near Wolf Rd. for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 55-yoa male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as result the Bay Village resident was arrested for OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.

 

Argument

On 02/14/2014, at 0004 hrs, a West Oviatt resident called to report an occupied vehicle had been parked in front of his house for about 15 minutes.  Police responded and discovered it was a boyfriend and girlfriend who were having an argument.  The 21-yoa driver was dropping of his 18-yoa girlfriend when the argument started.  They were advised of the complaint.

 

Stolen Newspapers

On 02/14/2014, at 0952 hrs, a Bates Rd. resident called BVPD on behalf of several of her neighbors who all have had copies of their newspaper stolen recently.    Police are giving the area special attention.

 

More OVIs

On 02/14/2014, at 2357 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Wolf Rd. near Vineland for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 47-yoa male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the Willoughby resident was arrested for OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.

 

On 02/16/2014, at 0247 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Fordham for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 23-yoa male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the Bay Village resident was arrested for OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.

 

On 02/15/2014 at 0203 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near Porter Creek for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 38-yoa female driver, the officer suspected she had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the Brooklyn resident was arrested for OVI.  She will face charges at RRMC.
Shut the Front Door

On 02/15/2014, at 1611 hrs, a resident in the 24000 block of East Oakland called to report the front door was a standing open a vacant house across the street.  Police responded and checked the residence.  Nothing appeared out of order in the residence.  Officers secured the front door before leaving.
