PI DAY AT LEE BURNESON MIDDLE SCHOOL

Westlake Schools logoPiDayMarch 14, better known as Pi Day at LBMS, became a celebration of pie and Pi, as well as a chance to help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Math teacher Anne Dill, and Language Arts teacher and Student Council advisor Nicole Goshen, combined Pi Day celebrations with the annual Pasta for Pennies drive to raise hundreds of dollars for research into leukemia and lymphoma. Students brought in everything from homemade blueberry to frozen cookies & cream pies, and donations for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and spent the day eating pie and working on math formulas.

Grady Schlott, who donated the greatest number of pies, tied with Katie Cirinione in reciting the most digits of pi.
