Bay Village Police want to remind residents there have been phone scams occurring recently regarding taxes.  Please do not give out your personal information over the telephone!

 

OVI

On 03/23/2014, at 0057 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. at Longbeach for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 30 yoa male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI.  The Avon Lake resident will face charges at RRMC.

 

Wanted

On 03/24/2014, at 1728 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Bassett Rd. near Wolf Rd. for a traffic violation.  After identifying the driver, it was determined the 23 yoa Cleveland resident had an active arrest warrant with Parma PD.  Parma was contacted and confirmed the warrant.  A BVPD officer met a Parma officer and turned the female over to the custody of Parma PD.

 

Suspicious

On 03/25/2014, AT 1010 hrs, a Huntington Woods resident called to report a suspicious male walking in the neighborhood.  He had gone to several houses in the area.  BVPD officers located the male, and learned he was soliciting for a Landscaping Company.  He was advised to cease and desist until he could obtain a solicitors permit.

 

Wanted  

On 03/27/2014, at 1319 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Wolf Rd. near Parkside because the driver had a suspended driver’s license.  The driver was cited for the offense and the vehicle was impounded.  A 19 yoa female passenger in the car had an active felony warrant with the CCSO.  The warrant was confirmed, and she was taken into custody.  She was later transported to the County Jail.

 

Loud Music

ON 03/28/2014, at 0255 hrs, an Oakmoor resident called to report his neighbor was playing music very loud.  Police responded and spoke to the neighbor, who was advised of the complaint.

 

Drugs Found

On 03/29/2014, at 2046 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Clague Rd. near Lake Rd. for a traffic violation.  The officer suspected there were drugs in the vehicle, and contacted Avon Lake for an assist from their K-9 unit.  Avon Lake’s dog “hit” on the vehicle.  A subsequent search turned up marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a possible heroin kit.  The 22 yoa male Cleveland resident was arrested on drug charges.  He will face charges at RRMC, and possible additional Felony charges when lab tests come back on suspected heroin.

 

Pot Bust

On 03/29/2014, at 0316 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Bradley Rd. near the railroad tracks.  While speaking with the 25 yoa male driver, the officer smelled the distinct odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle turned up no marijuana.  The officer also suspected the driver was under the influence of drugs.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and a result, the Westlake resident was arrested for OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.

On 03/29/2014, at 2034 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near Bassett for a traffic violation.  After speaking to the 52 yoa female driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI.  The Avon Lake resident will face charges at RRMC.

 

Missing Man

On 03/30/2014, at 0341 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Columbia Rd. near Speedway.  The 86 yoa male registered owner of the vehicle was entered as an Endangered Missing Adult from Cleveland.  The owner was operating the vehicle.  Contact was made with Cleveland PD, who confirmed the male was missing.  The owner’s grandson was contacted, and responded to the scene to take custody of his grandfather and the vehicle.
