CareSource Foundation Announces Quarterly Grants

Dayton-based Foundation awards grants totaling $262,015

The CareSource Foundation has awarded its first round of quarterly grants for 2014. The CareSource Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations in health and human services with a focus on children’s health, issues of senior adults, community health, special needs populations and strategies to address the medically uninsured throughout the state of Ohio.

The CareSource Foundation was created to fund nonprofits that share the Foundation’s mission of advancing the health and well-being of underserved people in the communities they serve by providing innovative solutions and funding to address health care needs. These grants have been selected through a rigorous review process that evaluates innovation, impact and sustainability.

CareSource First Quarter Foundation Grants Highlights 2014

 

Adoption Network of Cleveland (ANC) provides programs and services for all members of the adoption triad (adoptees, birthparents and adoptive parents). The CareSource Foundation grant will support intensive preparation for foster youth who are at the highest risk of aging out of the foster care system. Services include connections to health care, housing, education, job skills, health insurance and transportation support.

 

Faces Without Places of Cincinnati provides support for more than 6,000 children annually who are experiencing homelessness in Greater Cincinnati. The CareSource Foundation grant will fund the Educational Stability Collaborative which includes 30 partners (schools, homeless shelters and social service agencies) that will coordinate social service & educational needs for homeless children.

 

The Grandview Foundation will expand services at the Women’s Center at Southview Hospital. The CareSource grant will fund Project BABY (Better Access for Babies & Young Mothers) and focus on prenatal care, health education, and a full range of obstetric care for low-income mothers.
