The City of Bay Village will conduct a written competitive examination for the position of Police Officer on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at the Bay Village Middle School, 27725 Wolf Road, Bay Village, Ohio 44140. Applicants must present a valid driver’s license to sign in.
The purpose of the examination is to establish an eligibility list for the position of full time police officer. Applicants passing the written exam with a minimum score of 70% will be required to pass the “Police Officer Physical Agility Examination” administered by the Cuyahoga Community College Law Enforcement Training Division and provide proof/certificate of having passed the exam. If holding a current physical agility certificate, a re-take is not required until the current certificate expires.
Applications may be obtained from the City of Bay Village web site, www.cityofbayvillage.com, the reception desk (first floor) at the Bay Village City Hall, 350 Dover Center Road, or the police station at 28000 Wolf Road beginning Monday, September 8, 2014. ONLY 200 APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

RESIDENCY: IF APPOINTED, MUST RESIDE WITHIN 20-MILE RADIUS OF BAY VILLAGE POLICE STATION WITHIN TWO YEARS
Starting Salary: $47,367, after one year: $52,645, after two years: $59.546.
Applicants must pass all examinations including written, physical agility, background investigation, polygraph, personal interview, psychological exam and a comprehensive medical examination, including drug testing. The City of Bay Village has a “no-hire policy” for applicants who use tobacco. Extra credit is available for qualifying education, experience, and/or military service.
All application forms, accompanied by a $35.00 non-refundable processing fee, must be returned to the Bay Village Civil Service Commission, 350 Dover Center Road no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2014. If returning by mail, application must be postmarked by September 26, 2014. Applications must be notarized.
