Westlake Police: Right Guy, Wrong House, Bad Night

Taking a guy home to the wrong house meant a bad night for a pair of Westlake teens last week. One drunken 17-year-old Westlake girl tried to drive a drunken 17-year-old Westlake boy home on Sept. 21 at 1:20 a.m. They ended up at the wrong house on the right street and woke up the residents by trying to enter.

The boy was arrested for DCI and Curfew and was walked to his actual home, where his parents were awakened and took custody of him. The driver was arrested for OVI, BAC (.163 by breath), Underage Consumption, and Curfew. Her mom came to get her at the station.

Domestic Violence Denial

A 39-year-old Westlake man was arrested for Domestic Violence at his Detroit Road business after a passer-by saw him punching his 32-year-old wife on Sept. 24 at 2:48 PM. Both parties denied anything physical took place.

Thefts

A Westlake man’s IPad was stolen from his Clemens Rd. workplace on Sept. 18 around 1PM. He left it on a ledge near a washroom. He was able to remotely track it later that afternoon as it left the parking lot around 4:30PM; it was then shut off after he disabled it. He reported the theft on Sept. 21.

A 2001 Dodge minivan was stolen from a First St. business on Sept. 20 between 2PM-5:45PM. It belonged to a Marblehead woman.

Three females stole merchandise from a Main St. store on Sept. 22 at 1:20PM. They were chased by other shoppers and dropped some of the loot as they ran. They fled in a grey minivan.

Three condensers were stolen from a Bassett Rd. warehouse sometime prior to Sept. 23. Their make and value are unknown; no one is sure when they were last seen intact. The lines connecting the units to the building were cut.

A $350 power washer was taken from the bed of a King James Pkwy. man’s pickup on the night of Sept. 26. It was parked in his apartment complex lot.

Domestic Issues

A 27-year-old Dover Center Rd. woman and a 29-year-old Cleveland man (ex-boyfriend and father of the woman’s child) argued over visitation on Sept 23, and then got into a physical altercation. The female reported the matter the next day; the City Prosecutor will rule on any possible charges.

A 14-year-old Bobbie Ln. boy refused to appear in Juv. Ct. for his Sept. 25 morning hearing. The magistrate faxed over an arrest warrant to WPD and he was taken to the Detention Home.

Visa Violation

A 33-year-old Syrian woman caused a disturbance on Sept. 25 at 4:32PM when she applied for a job at a Detroit Rd. bank. She was found to have overstayed her visa and was turned over to ICE officers.

A Lakewood woman’s 2006 Chevrolet was damaged on the evening of Sept. 25 while parked in a Crocker Rd. garage. The driver’s side rear quarter panel was scratched.

A 31-year-old Avon man passed out in his car in a Clemens Rd. hotel lot on Sept. 25 at 11:11PM. He was arrested for DCI and Open Container.
