Earlier this year, Valens Kombucha was presented as a concept along with samples to a panel of judges at the 2014 Northeast Ohio Food Contest. Valens Kombucha went from winning the contest in April to arriving in the refrigerated wellness departments at all Ohio Heinen’s locations.
Kombucha, known by the ancients as the “Elixir of Longevity”, is black tea that naturally acquires live probiotics, active enzymes, antioxidants, B vitamins and amino acids during the fermentation process.
Valens then adds a splash of natural stevia based flavor infusions that transforms traditional kombucha into a light, refreshing, broadly appealing beverage.
“I set out to create a healthy beverage first, but then it had to really deliver on taste” according to Debbie Sablack, founder of Valens Kombucha. “The word Valens in Latin means in good health, and improving wellness naturally was the basis for Valens Kombucha.”
Valens Kombucha is available in three flavors: Lemonade, Green Tea and Berry Blast.
When drinking kombucha for the health benefits, it is important that the kombucha is raw, live, unpasteurized and created through a natural fermentation process with a kombucha culture.
This ancient process originally developed over 2,000 years ago is the same process Valens Kombucha is bringing to Northeast Ohio.
