OVI arrests are at the top of the Bay Village Police blotter for the first week of 2015.
On 12/28/2014, at 0008 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near the Avon Lake border for a traffic violation. After speaking with the 46 yoa female driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the Avon Lake resident was arrested for OVI. She will face charges at RRMC.
ON 12/30/2014, at 1954 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Knickerbocker near Forest. After speaking with the male driver, the officer suspected the driver was high on drugs. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the 30 yoa Bay Village resident was arrested for OVI. He will face charges at RRMC.
On 01/01/2015, at 0050 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Saddler near Lake Rd. for a traffic violation. After speaking to the 23 yoa male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the Avon Lake resident was arrested for OVI. He will face charges at RRMC.
On 01/04/2015, at 0144 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near Dover center for a traffic violation. After speaking with the 29 yoa male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result the Cleveland resident was arrested for OVI. He will face charges for OVI.
Theft
On 01/03/2015, at 1154 hrs, a resident of Cahoon Ledges reported that someone had taken numerous pieces of sterling silver from her house worth over $3,000. Police are investigating.
