Bay Police Warn Against Scam IRS Calls

Several Bay Village residents have reported receiving scam phone calls from people claiming to be with the IRS, report Bay Village Police. BVPD reminds residents to please be very cautious when anyone requests your personal information over the phone.

Felony Arrest

On 01/12/2015, at 1442 hrs, a BVPD officer located a male in the 500 block of Columbia Rd. that had multiple felony warrants for Robbery and one for Felonious Assault from the County.  The 18 yoa male was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and transported to the County Jail where he is being held on $25,000 bond.

Wrong Account

On 01/12/2015, at 1604 hrs, a resident in the 300 block of Huntmere contacted BVPD to report someone had opened a Dominion East Ohio Gas account in their name.  Police are investigating.

Alert Snowplow Driver

On 01/12/2015, at 0422 hrs, a snowplow driver reported a house in the 31000 block of Huntington Woods Parkway had the garage door open and the interior door to the house was ajar.  Officers responded to check the interior of the house.  No one was located in the house and it appeared to be an oversight.


On 01/15/2015, at 0249 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Wolf Rd. near Dover Center for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 35 yoa female driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were offered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI.  The resident will face charges at RRMC.
