One by one nine determined young people reached a crossroads in their earnest pursuit for truth. Their insatiable desire for freedom caused them to leave their Hutterite colonies without delay. “The Nine” mustered the courage to leave their lifelong surroundings, family, and friends to face the unknown. Together they persevered through their strong faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Now, each have written their true personal accounts of their lives in two books, Hutterites: Our Story To Freedom, and Since We Told The Truth: Our Life Can Never Be The Same.

Nine Before-AfterThe Hutterites are a religious group of people who practice communal living under the cloak of the Anabaptist faith. Hutterites are “spiritual cousins” of the more well-known Amish and Mennonites. There are approximately 50,000 Hutterites located in the northern United States and Canada. Glenda, Jason, and Titus left a colony in North Dakota. Rodney, Sheryl, Darlene, Cindy, Karen, and Junia left a colony in Manitoba, Canada.

“When someone chooses to leave the Hutterite colony they are forced to go empty handed” said Cindy Waldner, “We received support, encouragement, and scriptural counsel from believers in Jesus Christ who were obedient to God’s call to help us become established in our new lives.”

Within the pages of their two books The Nine chronicle the transformation that transpired for them since leaving colony life. They operate successful businesses and with great joy continue to minister and reach out with their books throughout the United States and Canada.

The Nine are excited to announce what has transpired with them the last few months. All nine have relocated; seven from North Dakota to the beautiful Northwood’s of Wisconsin and two from Manitoba to Ontario, Canada.

Nine BooksIn their second book, Since We Told The Truth, the Nine share their vision of having a place prepared for people who desire teaching and training for ministry and to further their relationship with Jesus Christ. “All to the glory of God we now own 80 acres near Park Falls, Wisconsin” explained Glenda Maendel. Within two weeks of discovering this property, they had purchased it and began to build their first building which is now under roof. They feel blessed to have the opportunity to continue businesses and ministry in this state. The Nine consider themselves privileged to extend to others what they received in loving mentorship, direction, and counsel.

Another noteworthy happening for the Nine has been to produce high definition, professional quality videos in their home studio. They release teachings on biblical issues that are pertinent and applicable to one’s life. They have found through video recordings they can expound thoroughly and accurately the Word of God for those people desiring truth. There videos can now be viewed on wdjsproductions.com and on YouTube.

“As a blessing from God, our books Hutterites and Since We Told The Truth continue to be a success and are being read by people all over the world from Europe to Africa to Australia and even The Middle East” said Sheryl Waldner. The Nine are receiving nationwide interest and are actively holding book signings in numerous national book store chains and independent book stores along with media interviews. Their books are available at Barnes & Noble stores and on their website, www.thenine9.com.
