Update: Police Seek Help After Car Window Damaged Near Huntington Park in Bay Village

The Bay Village Police have issued the following statement regarding the automobile that had a window damaged while travelling along Lake Road near Huntington Metropark last night:

A couple was traveling home from a restaurant in Avon Lake on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at approximately 11:00 pm when their passenger side window was shot out. The couple was eastbound on Lake Road at Huntington Reservation when they heard a loud pop and the passenger side window shattered. One of the two occupants sustained minor cuts from the broken glass which flew into the interior of the vehicle. Bay Village Police, with major assistance from the Cleveland Metropark Rangers, extensively searched the park and its wooded areas. It was determined that a projectile was launched from the south side of Lake Road. The above was posted on the BVPD facebook site at about 6:55 p.m.

In a follow-up, Police say, “This was not a gunshot and was determined to be a projectile possible from a sling shot.”

 

This morning, Bay Police reported that an automobile travelling past Huntington Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks along Lake Road  had a window damaged the evening of June 2. Bay Village Police report the incident is under investigation. There is no official press release at this time. Police report that the cause of the damage is still undetermined. Updates will be posted.
