– Div. l distance ace Annie Heffernan of St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati turned in a double win, taking both the 1600 ( :48.39) and 3200 (10:48) runs in dominant fashion, opening huge leads en route to victory in both gruelling events.
-Biggest smile of the day belonged to Jenna Fesemyer of Ravenna Southeast as she won the 100 meter dash to claim her 12th state medal in wheelchair competition.
-North Royalton pole vaulter Kristen Denk set an all-division record of 13-6 with her winning effort in Saturday’s finals.
-Hudson’s distance duo of Kyle Mau (9:00.06) and Gavin Gaynor (4:12) registered a lethal combo for their school by winning the 3200 meter and 1600 meter runs, respectively. Mau is the son of former Rocky River great Bob Mau.
-Sprint competitions were so close that video confirmations were needed to catch the blindingly swift participants in the Div. l men’s 200 meter dash won by Nordonia’s Denzel Ward in 21.65 and followed by Nick Gray of Pickerington North and Joe Harrington of Austintown Fitch at 21.76.
