Bay Police: Too Much Carnival at Bay Days


Bay Police assist a guest at last week’s Bay Days carnival.

On 07/02/2015, at 8:50pm, a Bay Village Officer came across a heavily intoxicated male at the Bay Days Carnival. After checking the male’s identity, it was learned that he had an active warrant out of Arizona but with limited extradition. The 41 year-old Cleveland resident was taken into custody and held for bond. He is awaiting an opportunity to speak to a judge during the next available court hours.

On a Tear

On 06/28/2015, at 1:00am, BVPD officers were dispatched to the 26000 block of Knickerbocker Road on report of a male tearing up the home. After speaking with the parties involved, a 35 year-old Bay Village male was arrested for Domestic Violence. He is facing charges in RRMC.

Fight at Columbia Beach

On 06/29/2015, at 4:56pm, BVPD received a report from a male who stated that his 18 year-old girlfriend had just been assaulted at Columbia Road Beach. Officers arrived and found that an altercation took place between the 18 year old Lakewood resident and a 17 year old female Bay Village resident. Both parties blamed the other for the altercation. Charges are pending an investigation.

Threatening Texts

On 06/30/2015, at 2:06am, an 18 year old Bay Village female arrived at BVPD to report that she had been receiving threatening texts from an ex-boyfriend via a third party. Officers investigated and found that the 20 year-old Avon resident had sent threatening texts to his ex-girlfriend and a mutual friend. An investigation is ongoing.


On 07/04/2015, at 2:58am, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Porter Creek, south of Lake Rd. for a traffic infractions. After speaking with the operator, the officer noticed the smell of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A Metro Park Ranger Canine Officer was also on scene. His drug dog alerted on the vehicle indicating the possibility of drugs inside the car. Officers searched and found marijuana, an open container of alcohol, and a white powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine. A 33 year-old female Columbus resident received citations for the marijuana and the open container. A 31 year-old Mansfield female is facing drug possession charges, pending lab results.
