The City of Westlake’ annual 4th of July parade began at Westlake High School and proceeded east on Hilliard Boulevard to Clague Park at 10 a.m. Independence Day.
Mayor Dennis Clough was followed by members of City Council, police, the fire department and just about every civic group in town. Those who weren’t in the parade lined the streets to greet the marchers as they passed. It was a community event in every sense of the word, staged in beautiful weather for all to enjoy.
Walkers joined the parade at Westlake Christian Church, and all proceeded to Clague Park for patriotic ceremonies.
Evening festivities also took place at Clague Park with food and drink vendors, musical entertainment and a classic car show. Fireworks began at dusk – another great 4th in Westlake!
