Senior running back Nick Best picked up where he left off last year by scoring a school-record seven touchdowns!

Nick rushed 27 times for 270 yards. Paving the way for Nick were offensive linemen Matt Tashjian, Sean Heideloff, John Reid, Maxton Edgerly and Howard Marusa.

This Friday, the Rockets will take on Streetsboro at Bay Memorial Stadium in their home opener.

Streetsboro, also nicknamed the Rockets, got their 2015 campaign started just as strong last Friday. The team rang up a 33-6 Portage Trail Conference cross-division win over the Southeast Pirates. Their coach, John Arlesic, was quoted in the Ravenna Record-Courier as saying, “Today was a great start to the season, a good first step, but we have to get ready for a great game next week against a great opponent in Bay Village, who played week 13 last year. We’ve got to go watch film and be critical of ourselves without looking at the scoreboard and figure out how we get better for next week to beat our opponent.” Streetsboro is led by quarterback Jerry Judd, the Portage Trail Conference County Division Player of the Year in 2014.

Should be a great game!

UPDATE: The old record for touchdowns in a single game was held by Kevin Williams. Kevin rushed for 6 touchdowns against Westlake in 2002.
